When Àni Villas Anguilla opened four years ago, staying at the 10-bedroom vacation rental (split between two separate private villas) was a lesson in decompression. Now, with a state-of-the-art kite-surfing package launching this spring, the quiet Caribbean getaway is as much a destination for thrill seekers as for beach loungers.
The seven-day program begins with round-trip private airfare from anywhere in North America via Private Jet Services for up to 14 guests. Over the week, guests will receive more than 16 hours of hands-on teaching from instructors certified by the International Kiteboarding Organization.
At least three professional kite surfers offer instruction at any given time, including Judson Burdon, a self-taught athlete and the owner of Anguilla Watersports. The $175,000 program is meant to accommodate all skill levels, and full gear is provided, making it easy for novices to jump right in—though guests can opt to bring their own equipment if they prefer. Also included in the package are daily yoga sessions, stand-up paddleboarding excursions, snorkeling, lessons with the professional tennis player Denny Derrick, and massages. And as with all stays at Àni Villas Anguilla, guests also have access to a full staff that includes butlers and a private chef.
