Shanan Campanaro, founder of the design studio Eskayel, has partnered with fellow Brooklynite and designer Andrew Berman of the furniture manufacturer Dane Co. to release a line of chairs and tables called Furniture Collaboration. Each of the pieces is handcrafted by Berman and features a fabric pattern from Eskayel’s new Lithos Collection, which Campanaro designed specifically for the collaboration using watercolors and inks. Instead of marble, Campanaro tops each of the tables with her artisanal patterns followed by a thick coat of transparent hard lacquer. The result is an effect that looks and feels like stone. For the sling-back chairs, Campanaro transfers the same patterns onto organic cotton denim, achieving a laid-back yet chic look. Each of the eight pieces is available in black stained maple wood or white ash. The tables, which consist of coffee, side, and dining versions as well as custom sizes, feature mitered corners and floating tenon joinery and range from $2,000 to $5,000. The sling chairs feature internal hardware and hinges and range from $2,000 to $3,000. Campanaro’s two Lithos Collection designs are also available through Eskayel in the form of pillows, wallpaper, and fabric, each in a light and a dark colorway. Alabaster, a soft and translucent pattern intended to resemble limestone, is available in white and dark gray. Septaria, a design with sharp Rorschach-type shapes meant to be reminiscent of crystal rock formations, is available in a combination of dark purple and grays or pale pinks mixed with faded greens and blues. Pillows range from $135 to $305. Fabric ranges from $142 to $168 per yard. Wallpaper begins at $102 per panel. (eskayel.com)
